32 Weeks

Pregnancy: 32 weeks

Weight Gain: 18 pounds

Sleep: Most nights I sleep well, minus getting up to pee every couple of hours. Sometimes my reflux is bad even with the medication I'm taking so those nights I have to sleep practically sitting up.

Gender: Its a girl!

Name: Naomi Grace

Feeling: Actually pretty good except for feeling like I have to sit like a teenage boy slumped in my seat with legs spread wide. I swear this girl couldn't be any lower and I feel like I am squishing both of us when I sit normally or bend over.

Movement: She moves a lot and is developing sleep and wakeful patterns. Most of the time her arms and head are way down low in my belly and her feet get stuck up in my ribs. We are wondering if she will be he longest baby yet.

Belly: Big 

Next Appointment: at 34 Weeks. I'm very happy with the OB practice I decided on in our new town. They are supporting my decision to try for a VBA2C (Vaginal birth after two cesareans) as long as neither the baby nor I are compromised. I also met a Doula (or birthing coach) who successfully had a VBA2C a year ago). John and I are excited to have her help us in our birthing process.

27 weeks

At the end of this week I will be in the third trimester. What was that? Third trimester already? I cannot believe I have reached this milestone with baby number three!  When you already have two children to parent and need to pack up your home and move because your husband is changing careers time really does seem to fly.

Pregnancy: 27 weeks

Weight Gain: 16 pounds

Sleep: Some nights I sleep great, others not so much. I have to pay attention to what I eat in the evenings because certain foods trigger my pregnancy induced reflux. Chocolate seems to be the worst culprit (ahem--the chocolate peanut butter donut I ate the other night at nine after the kids went to sleep was not one of my best ideas.)

Gender: Its a girl!

Feeling: Actually pretty good as long as I can prevent reflux at night.

Movement: Moving like crazy! She has hiccups all the time. Nicolaus loves to feel his baby sister move and especially likes to lay his head on my belly and have it pushed up and down by the movement. Carleigh isn't patient enough to wait, but she does talk to my belly and has already informed her sister she will share her hair bows and dress-up clothes

Belly: Definitely getting bigger!

Next Appointment:  Either the end of this month or in February. Since we moved I have to change providers...

Rainy Day Crochet

Last week's several rainy days in a row kept me in the house and since John was out of town for a conference, I busied myself with crafts. Among the things I accomplished are two hats for Carliegh. I have to say the green sun hat may be the cutest piece I have crocheted yet.

Turning 3 (months that is), Tummy Time and Why Every Outfit Should Come with a Matching Bib

Today our little man turns 3 months old and I cannot believe how much bigger/older he actually looks. When I look back at his newborn pictures he almost doesn't even look like the same baby. All things baby are going well. Most days he sleeps from between 8:30 and 9:00 at night to 5:30 or 6:00 in the morning. We can't complain about that and he is the perfect little alarm clock for John. Tummy time is going fantastic and I have a feeling he will be able to lift himself up in no time. In fact, he gets very frustrated that he can't do that now. So stubborn and hard headed...wherever did he get that from? Penny seems to think Tummy Time is for her too and I think Nicolaus likes having a partner in crime. The only thing I am not sure I will ever get used to is the spit up. Now, I don't mind the spit up itself, just the fact that it is a constant occurance. Sunday we went through 3 outfits before church. I know this is all a lesson in patience from HIM. Is it too much to ask that baby clothes companies please make a bib for every outfit? The fashionista in me hates making Nickles wear a bib that doesn't match and if he's not wearing one, well, see below...

Blankie Finished!

I finally finished the blanket for Baby Pedersen to go with the pumpkin hat. I wanted something special made by his/her mommy to wear home from the hospital. Both the blanket and the hat are organic cotton from Blue Sky Alpacas. I am so happy with how they turned out. If interested, the blanket is my own modification of the Tiramisu Blanket pattern by Alicia Paulson. The Pumkin Hat is is a pattern from Lettuce Knit that was in my Stitch-N-Bitch knitting calendar.

Nursery Painted

Just wanted to share pictures of our painted nursery. I love, love, love how it turned out. John did an awesome job on the wainscoting. Now we just need window treatments, furniture and, of course, a baby!
