Back On It!

John and I have resolved to get back on our workout routine today. After being so good for a month (I have said goodbye to 2 dress sizes as proof) the whole family first got a stomach virus, then the flu and, to top it all off John hurt his back. He and I have now been off our routine for a month. It has been harder to get back into it than it was to start in the first place. But it all ends tonight! As soon as he gets home we head to the basement to lift some weights. I know it will be hard but I am really looking forward to it. Wish us luck!

Caught on Tape

There are so many moments I wish I had on video, but honestly, who has a camera around all the time? Or if I actually do run to go get the camera, the moment has passed or Nicolaus just isn't in the mood anymore. This is one of the reasons I love, love, love my iPhone. I actually have a chance to catch some of the sweet but fleeting moments in my life raising two under two. Ignore my silly voice, I think I was being way too conscious of the way I sounded...

This week's topic is all about first dates. Believe it or not, John's and my first date was McDonald's. We hit the drive-thru before going to a friend's party. I ordered nuggets. It just goes to show that first dates are no indication of where your relationship is headed. We have had many dates since then, all of them fabulous.

This Week's Topic: Favorite Halloween Memories

How can I pick just one?! I absolutely love Halloween and always have a costume. Even on our Honeymoon cruise I had perfect pirate garb for the hubby and me--would have worn it too if we hadn't been seasick that night. However, if I have to pick one, it would be the Halloween after John and I started dating...1999. He still liked coming to visit me in Richmond at that point. We dressed as a vampire couple and attended a party that ended with two huge M&Ms fighting...boy do I wish I had a picture of that! I'm not sure what makes this Haloween stand out to me. Maybe John made it so special or maybe because I look really good in the dress.

Bye Bye Boys

John and Will left early this morning to hike and camp part of the Appalachian Trail. I had to take a picture of them decked out in the gear they have been collecting over the past month or so. It also serves as an up-to-date picture in case they go missing...just kidding!

What a cutie...

You know that cliche, "A picture is worth 1,000 words?" Well it happens to be true, especially when you are talking about my son, the cutest child on Earth. I'm allowed to say that because I am his mother. I am sure your little boy or girl is just darling and you can post pictures on your blog to support your claim. I digress...I have discovered not nearly enough words exist to describe what I feel for Nicolaus, how proud I am of his every little discovery, or how baffled I am that 5 months of his life have whipped by me like a freight train.

Family Resemblance?

No you're not seeing double...The picture on the left is John's 4 month portrait and Nicolaus is on the right! Everyone always is quick to point out how much Nickles looks like his Daddy and there really is no denying it. Pretty crazy too is how similar their 4 month outfits are! Thank you Great-Grandpa Pedersen for the scanned picture of John.

Happy Anniversary!

Four years ago today I married my best friend and soulmate. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful man in my life. I cannot wait for our little one to be a part of our love. I just thought I'd share a few pictures from our special day.
